Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern the use of services provided by p2ptalk.org ("Platform", "Service", "we"). By registering or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted all provisions of this Agreement.

If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Service Description

p2ptalk.org is a communication platform that provides encrypted video/voice calls and messaging between users via direct peer-to-peer (P2P) connections.

Important: All media streams (video, audio) and messages are transmitted directly between users via P2P connections. p2ptalk.org servers are used only for connection setup (signaling); your content data is not stored or processed on our servers (except TURN relay situations, see Section 6).

3. Account and User Obligations

  • You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration.
  • Account security is entirely your responsibility. Do not share your password with third parties.
  • You are responsible for all actions performed through your account.
  • A user may only create one account.
  • Users under 18 may use the Platform with parental or guardian consent.

4. Content Responsibility and P2P Architecture

User Content Responsibility: You are fully and exclusively responsible for all content you share, send, or transmit via p2ptalk.org (including messages, audio, video, files, screen sharing).

Due to the P2P architecture:

  • Your messages and media streams are transmitted directly to other users; they do not pass through our servers.
  • The Platform cannot monitor, filter, audit, or store P2P-transmitted content.
  • You alone are responsible for ensuring your content is legal, does not infringe third-party rights, and complies with community standards.
  • End-to-end encryption (E2EE) of your content does not eliminate your legal responsibility.

5. Prohibited Uses

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Sharing illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene content or content that violates others' rights.
  • Creating, distributing, or sharing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
  • Distributing content that infringes copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.
  • Using the Platform for spam, fraud, phishing, or other malicious purposes.
  • Attempting to damage, overload, or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure.
  • Violating other users' privacy; recording without consent or collecting personal data.
  • Analyzing Platform services through reverse engineering, decompilation, or source code extraction.

6. TURN Relay and Data Routing

In cases where a direct P2P connection cannot be established (NAT, firewall, etc.), your data may be routed through a TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server. In this case:

  • Your data remains end-to-end encrypted (E2EE).
  • The TURN server only routes encrypted packets; it cannot read the content.
  • The Platform clearly indicates TURN relay status in the user interface.
  • The room creator can choose whether to allow TURN relay.

7. Privacy and Data Processing

7.1 Collected Data

The Platform only stores the following data on its servers:

  • Account information: username, email address, encrypted password.
  • Friendship relationships and room metadata (room name, creator, scope).
  • Session information (session cookies).

7.2 Data Not Collected

  • Message content (transmitted directly via P2P, not stored on server).
  • Audio and video streams.
  • File transfers.
  • Call history or message metadata.

7.3 Cookies

The Platform uses cookies necessary for session management. These cookies are essential for the functionality of the service and are not shared with third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

The design, software, logo, and content of the p2ptalk.org platform belong to the Platform. The Platform does not claim any rights over content transmitted by users via P2P.

9. Limitation of Liability

p2ptalk.org is provided "as is". The Platform:

  • Does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • Is not responsible in any way for content transmitted via P2P between users.
  • Cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damages arising from users' actions on the Platform.
  • Is not responsible for disruptions caused by third-party services (including TURN servers).

10. Account Suspension and Termination

  • The Platform may suspend or permanently close accounts of users who violate this Agreement without prior notice.
  • Users may delete their accounts or stop using the service at any time.
  • When an account is closed, account data stored on the server will be deleted within a reasonable period.

11. Changes

The Platform reserves the right to update this Agreement at any time. Significant changes will be announced through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is subject to the laws of the Republic of Turkey, and Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from this Agreement.
